Sesame Street MONSTER Cupcake Cake!

Here it is the Mother of all Cakes, it's actually a Cupcake Cake made of 64 cupcakes. This was the first time I had ever done a cupcake cake and I am actually very surprised how well it went. Usually I work with Fondant, Since each cupcake needs to be free to pull apart from the cake, I used buttercream. This was quite a challenge for me because I had never done buttercream free-hand characters before. I am proud of the way it turned out!

This is also my largest cake to date measuring at 2' x 2' this baby needs to be carried with both arms and let me tell you, it is a work out!

The Smash Cake is 4", about the size of a soda can, so you can imagine how big this cake really is!

Happy Birthday Little Rocco, I hope you love your Ginormous Cake, you only turn 1 once!

Princess 1st Birthday

This Birthday cake was inspired by the Decor of the party. (Hugs-n-Stiches) I absolutely love this cake, the colors, the design, I just love anything pretty and girly.

Inside is Vanilla cake with Whipped Chocolate Ganache and covered with Fondant.

MacKenna's own little Butterfly Smash cake.
Smash Cakes are made for the Birthday child to have their own cake to "smash". Let's face it, who wants a piece of cake after they licked it to death. **
*Maybe it's the teacher in me but I am a stickler when it comes to kids putting their hands in cake! I hate it, it makes me so angry. Therefore, this goes against all the times I have yelled at children to not "touch" the cake! Problem Solved! haha

Beach Bridal Shower

A mini Sandcastle created for a Cupcake Tree Topper. The Bride and Groom will be getting married on the beach. The Flag on top is adorned with the couples Monogram.

Starkey's Ice Cream

This special cake was made for the owners of Starkey's Cones Sundaes and Shakes on the Rehobeth Boardwalk. I recreated the sign shown above and added their signature surfing cone to top this yummy ice cream sundae.

All cake was Vanilla while the icings were dyed for an authentic Neapolitan style. Whipped Cream and a Gumpaste Cherry make this Giant Ice Cream Sundae a real Treat!

Happy Birthday Mr. Starkey and Jack!

Thomas and Friends

These cupcakes and smash cake were made for a 2nd birthday party. They wanted an assortment of flavors, including;
Vanilla with Chocolate Ganache
Vanilla with Creamsicle filling
Vanilla with Vanilla Buttercream
Chocolate with Vanilla Buttercream
Chocolate with Chocolate Ganache
All cupcakes were topped with Vanilla Buttercream dyed to match the Thomas theme.

Thomas and Friends cupcake picks are nowhere to be found so I had to make my own. I used stickers on foam cutouts and attached toothpicks to top these colorful treats.

Johnny's own little smash cake made with Vanilla cake filled with Vanilla Buttercream and a Fondant Thomas face.

Happy Birthday To Me.... and Jen!

After a crazy cake making week where I worked 10 hours each day and then ended up baking till 3am on my birthday, it was nice to relax on the beach for 3 days with my entertaining family, it's never dull! haha

This is what I came up with for my personal birthday cake. Not exactly what I envisioned but I had to complete it down the shore and on limited sleep!

It was fun and pretty and tasted great too. The bottom was a Vanilla cake with Creamsicle filling and the top was a Vanilla cake with a Nutella (chocolate hazelnut) Buttercream Filling. Both were topped with a White Chocolate Ganache and then Decorated with Fondant.

Next week is Jen's birthday too, so in a sense this was her cake too! We had to get little Mason in our shot, the cake was about as big as he is!
Happy Birthday Jen!
Thank you to all my wonderful friends and family for all the birthday wishes and Sweet Treats support. The response is amazing and I am as busy as ever. I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
God Bless my parents and Randy who had to put up with me this week, I was a bit of a Cakezilla, they need a vacation now!

4th of July and Phanatic

First was this ironic cake for a girl named Jen who shared the same birthday as me! They celebrated with a Red, White and Blue cake complete with Shooting stars on top. Inside was Peanut Butter Cake with a Vanilla Buttercream.

Happy Birthday Jen!
Next was a last minute Philadelphia Phillies Phanatic cake. This little guy has become quite popular over the last few months. This time I added a World Series Sign. Both the Phanatic cake and the base were made with Chocolate Chip cake with a Vanilla Buttercream. All accents were made with Fondant.
The Backside of the Phanatic.
Happy 1st Birthday Gaige, I hope it was memorable for all.
