Birthdays, Babies and some Wine Cupcakes!

Sorry, It's been hectic lately and I have really been neglecting my postings.

Here are a few of the cakes I have done over the last few weeks:

A 50th Cake made for a Teacher who used to be a librarian, is involved with Pennie for Peace and an avid runner.
Happy Birthday Karla!

MaKenna's Girlie Cakes
Happy Birthday Makenna

Welcome Juliana Blake!

Snook From the PBS kids show: It's a Big Big World!
Thsi was my first try at a 2D cake. Not perfect but still learning!
Happy Birthday Kevin!

Pinot Grigio cupcakes Made for a Bridal Shower at a Vineyard.
Vanilla Cupcakes infused with a Pinot syrup, then topped with a special Pinot Buttercream.
This was the first time I had to completely make up my own recipie. I could not find one to save my life. I'm really happy with how they turned out, and the slight buzz you get from them helps as well!

Finally, a Cupcake Party for Maddie's 8th Birthday!

We set up this ultra Girly Party with a Shopping Boutique and a Cupcake Decorating Station.
The girls were given "Maddie Money" that they could spend in the boutique. The girls had a great time getting messy and spending "money" haha. The perfect party for the girliest girls!

The girls had a blast and we were exhausted by the end of the night, I'd say it was a success!
Happy Birthday Maddie!

The best part of the job!

I finally got a picture of the Erin's reaction when she saw her cake for the first time. I wasn't there when she got back from getting her hair and make-up done because I was getting myself ready for the night as well. She told me how much she loved it but seeing this really made my day! Her reaction was Priceless.

It took us 10 months and many tastings to get everything perfect but I feel we did a great job together. My first of many weddings to come!

Bring on 2010!

A year ago I made this cake:

I had no idea what I was doing at the time but I knew I had to start somewhere.

One year, 52 weekends (yes they were mostly all booked) and over 150 cakes made, I have grown tremedously!
Thank you for a wonderful year, it has been amazing. I can't believe how well things have taken off, the response is overwhelming at times but I always find a way to get it done. One thing I have definitly learned is to PLAN, PLAN, PLAN (I thought I knew this one, well being a teacher and all) 3 am emergency baking is not fun! And when it comes to a deadline and you're in a jam, people who you never would have thought to call for help, come to the rescue! (Thanks Mom, Col and Mrs. Mossor)

Thank you to all my clients who have let me into your families to celebrate the most precious moments in your life. I feel truly blessed.

2010 will be the year of Sweet Treats, I have a lot of new things in the works, some that have even surprised me! It's such an exciting time and I couldn't be more Thankful!

Enjoy a safe and wonderful New Year!

Ultimate Philadelphia Cake

This cake was made for an Ultimate Phillies Fan for his 30th birthday. We added all the elements that Matt loves, baseball, Cheesesteaks and Guinness. The bottom tier is Vanilla Butter cake with Peanut Butter Fluff and Chocolate Buttercreams, the Baseball Diamond is chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, while the baseball on top was Vanilla Butter Cake as well.

All decorations are edible.

On top we added the signatures of Matt's wife, kids* ( it should say Joe not Jon, I goofed* Sorry Matt!), and puppy to the baseball!

I got a nice note from Jenn, Matt's wife reguarding the cake:

Jen - your work is great. It is obvious how much time you spend on each cake and the passion you have to make the cake perfect. We absolutely LOVED it!! The cake was amazing! To look at and to eat! Everyone immediately stopped to see the cake when they came in and couldn't stop saying how awesome it looked. And Matt loved it too. The cheesesteak was perfect! Matt and Caitlin shared it ha! Oh and the cake....yum yum yum!! The peanut butter cake was just so delicious!!

Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! You added such a great piece to Matt's surprise party

Happy Birthday Matt, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Jackpot!

This Slot Machine was created for a friend's mother for her 85th birthday. She loves to gamble in Atlantic City so we thought the best way to represent her personality is to create a slot machine out of cake.

Everything is completely edible. Inside is vanilla pound with traditional chocolate buttercream, covered and decorated with fondant. The coins are chocolate also.

I hope this cake brings you some luck at the slots, Happy Birthday!

Very Thankful

I could not be more thankful for everyone who has supported and encouraged my baking endeavors.Take the time today, and everyday, to thank the people who made a significant difference in your life and continue to be a driving force through-out the year. Happy Thanksgiving, now Let's eat some PIE!

I made a few pies this year, not my best work (I just can't get pies right, plus I was swamped with orders so they were slacking). The pumpkin and coconut were made by me, while the Apple Streusel was made by my wonderful friend Christina. She is a pie Connesuir, her pies are amazing! We have decided to stick with what we are both best at and just trade baked goods for special occasions and that is FINE with me!

We loved it Christina, Thanks!!
